Homily for Tuesday of the 31st Week in Ordinary Time
Today is a crucially important day for our country. And, I would like us to just spend a few minutes quietly praying for our country. If you feel so inclined, I invite you to join me in kneeling before our Lord and begging that His will be done. Don’t pray for the success of any particular candidate; rather, pray for the unification of our nation and for peace to reign in our land; pray for conversion to the truth; pray for the legal protection of the unborn; pray for a respect of all life. Because no matter what happens today, no matter who wins today’s election, one thing will remain constant: Jesus Christ is now, has always been, and will always be Lord. It is Him that we serve, no one else.
